PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how shop.jekkawilde.com (aka “the Site” or “we”) collects, uses, and shares your Personal Information when you visit, shop, or otherwise vibe with us online. We believe in full transparency—and we’re allergic to shady data shit.

Got Questions?

If you’ve got questions, concerns, or just want to complain because Mercury’s in retrograde, shoot us an email at wildeandfreellc@gmail.com. We’re a small, feral team—but we read every message.

What We Collect (and Why)

We only collect what we need to make sure your orders arrive on time to the correct address, and that your experience on our site doesn’t suck. Here’s the breakdown:

DEVICE INFORMATION

  • What we collect: Browser version, IP address, time zone, cookie data, what products you view, search terms, and how you navigate the site (because we’re nosy, but only in a business-justified way).
  • Why we collect it: To make the site load correctly, track what pages are working, and figure out which product pages are making you drool.
  • How we collect it: Automatically, when you visit. We use cookies, pixels, log files, web beacons, and other nerdy tech.
  • Who sees it: Shopify (our ecommerce platform) and sometimes advertising tools if we’re running ads.

ORDER INFORMATION

  • What we collect: Your name, billing address, shipping address, payment info (yes, including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number (if you give it to us).
  • Why we collect it: So we can actually get your sexy books to your door, charge you correctly, and send you updates without chaos. Also to prevent fraud—because scammers suck.
  • How we collect it: Directly from you, when you place an order or sign up for stuff.
  • Who sees it: Shopify (they run the show behind the curtain), and maybe our printer or fulfillment partner depending on the order. Also ad platforms if you’ve opted in to marketing.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT INFORMATION

  • What we collect: Name, address, payment info (if relevant), email, and phone number—same as above.
  • Why we collect it: So we can actually help you when something goes sideways.
  • How we collect it: Directly from you, when you email us or fill out a form.
  • Who sees it: Us, and sometimes Shopify if we need their help fixing something.

🚫 MINORS, PLEASE EXIT THE CHAT

This site is 18+ only. We write steamy fantasy, not bedtime stories. If you’re underage, step away. We don’t knowingly collect data from minors—and if you’re a parent who thinks your kid snuck through, email us and we’ll wipe their info faster than a fae shadow daddy disappears into the mist.

Sharing Personal Information

We don’t gatekeep your data—but we do share it only when it’s necessary to run this spicy operation smoothly. Here’s the deal:

  • We use Shopify to power this store and keep things running behind the curtain like a loyal, slightly overworked tech goblin. Read how Shopify uses your info here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
  • We might also share your info to stay on the right side of the law. If someone slaps us with a subpoena, search warrant, or some other official bullshit, we’ll comply—but not without rolling our eyes.
  • That’s it. No drama. No sketchy data dealers. Just trusted tools to get your books shipped and your experience optimized.

Behavioral Advertising

Yes, we stalk your clicks—but only in the name of sexy book recommendations.

We use your personal info (like what you look at, buy, or obsess over) to show you ads you might actually care about. Because getting spammed with irrelevant nonsense is a tragedy.

Here’s how the tracking magic works:

  • We use Google Analytics to see what’s working and what’s getting ignored like an unredeemable villain. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Some of your info (like purchase activity, email, or how you interact with our site) might be shared with advertising partners, including Shopify Audiences. That helps us find other hot readers like you—without buying sketchy email lists or selling our souls.
  • These partners may use cookies or tracking tech to keep tabs on what you’re vibing with, so we can target ads instead of flinging content blindly into the void.
  • For more information about how targeted advertising works, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s (“NAI”) educational page at https://www.networkadvertising.org/understanding-online-advertising/how-does-it-work.

Want to Ghost Targeted Ads?

Visit the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out portal at: https://optout.aboutads.info/.

Using Your Personal Information

We use your personal info to keep the smut flowing and the shipping smooth. This includes:

  • Selling you the books & merch you came here for
  • Taking your money (with love)
  • Shipping your order without chaos
  • Keeping you in the loop on hot new releases and spicy exclusives

No weird shit. No data cults. Just the basics of running an indie empire.

Legal Stuff: GDPR Edition

If you live in the European Economic Area (EEA), here’s the very official legal basis we use to process your info—because the EU loves its paperwork:

  • You said “yes” (consent)
  • You bought stuff and we need to deliver it (contract)
  • We have legal obligations (like not laundering money)
  • Emergencies (think: protecting your vital interests)
  • Legit business reasons that don’t stomp on your rights (because we’re not monsters. We just write about them.)

How Long Do We Keep Your Info?

Forever. Just kidding.

We’ll keep your personal data on file only as long as we need it to:

  • Fulfill your orders
  • Stay legally compliant
  • Or until you email us and say, “Wipe it, Wilde”

We got you. Just hit up that “Your Rights” section when you’re ready to erase the evidence of your book-buying spree.

Automated Decision-Making (aka No, You're Not Being Judged by Robots)

If you’re in the EEA, you have the right to say, “Hell no” to machines making important decisions about your life.

But don’t worry—we don’t do that here. You’re not being profiled by an evil AI overlord.

The only thing that might happen automatically:

  • Shopify might temporarily block sketchy IP addresses that keep trying (and failing) to buy stuff
  • Or flag cards tied to those failed attempts

It’s fraud prevention, not a dystopian novel.

Selling Personal Information (Spoiler: We’d Sooner Eat Sand)

Let’s get one thing straight: we don’t sell your shit. Ever.
Some data gets shared with trusted tools like Shopify, Google Analytics, or ad networks so we can figure out which of our books are melting brains (and show you more of what you love). That’s sharing for functionality—not selling for cash.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), “selling” can technically include that kind of data-sharing, but we’re not handing off your email for a coupon code or selling your secrets to shady third parties. No blackmail. No bait-and-switch. No financial incentives to trade your privacy for smut.

We don’t sell info from minors (ew), and if you ever want to ghost targeted ads or check who’s watching your clicks, we’ve got you:

https://optout.aboutads.info/?c=2&lang=EN

You’re in control. Always.

Your rights

GDPR (aka The Fancy Euro Rules)

If you live in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to:

  • Peek at what data we’ve got on you
  • Take that data elsewhere (data portability, baby)
  • Fix it, update it, or delete it like a messy text thread

Want to exercise any of those rights?
Email us at wildeandfreellc@gmail.com and we’ll handle it with care—and possibly caffeine.

Your info starts out processed in Ireland (because Shopify) and may hop over to the US or Canada after that. Shopify’s got a whole GDPR whitepaper if you wanna deep dive.

 https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/your-account/privacy/GDPR.

CCPA (aka California's Version of Boundaries)

If you live in California, you have the right to:

  • Know what data we collect and how we use it
  • Ask us to delete it, fix it, or send it to another provider
  • Authorize someone else to request it on your behalf (hello, assistant/chaotic bestie)

To do any of the above, just contact us at wildeandfreellc@gmail.com. Easy.

Cookies

Cookies are tiny data files dropped on your device when you visit the site. They help:

  • Keep you logged in
  • Remember your cart
  • Auto-fill your info
  • Track what’s working on the site
  • Power analytics and ads

We use functional, performance, advertising, and social media cookies—basically the whole bakery.

You can block cookies in your browser settings if you want to go full incognito, but parts of the site might stop working smoothly (and that sucks).

Want to know what cookies we use? Keep scrolling. We've got a list.

Cookies are little bits of code we drop on your device to help the site remember who you are, what’s in your cart, and how many times you’ve stared at that special edition cover. Some cookies disappear when you close your browser (session cookies), others stick around like glitter after a bachelorette party (persistent cookies). Most of ours hang out between 30 minutes and two years—depending on what they’re doing.

You can block or delete cookies if you want, but heads up: that might make parts of our site glitchy, annoying, or straight-up unusable. Not because we’re punishing you—just because cookies keep shit working.

Want to manage your cookie drama?

  • Most browsers let you block, allow, or delete cookies in your Settings, Tools, or Preferences menus.
  • Need help figuring it out? Check out: www.allaboutcookies.org

Fair warning: blocking cookies doesn’t always stop third-party ad partners from getting your data via other means. To shut that down too, bounce over to the Behavioral Advertising section and click that opt-out link like the main character you are.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal like “pls don’t spy on me,” but the internet doesn’t have its shit together enough to agree on what that means. So for now, we don’t change anything based on that signal—but if the rules change, we’ll keep up.

 Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when laws shift, tech evolves, or we just get our act together and improve stuff. If anything major changes, we’ll post it here. No sneaky edits. Just real talk.

Got Complaints?

If something feels off, email us. We’ll listen. If our reply doesn’t hit the mark, you’ve got the right to escalate to your local data protection authority. If you’re in the U.S., that’s the FTC:

https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/topics/protecting-consumer-privacy-security

We’re not trying to be shady. But if it feels shady, we want to know.
